He ran, faster than any human should ever have been able to, deftly dodging overturned trashcans that had spilled their rancid filth into the brown and mucky streets. Debris flickered with dull color as they drifted in the dank air of the city. Tall gray decrepit buildings lined the alleyways, adorned with brown soot-covered window no one ever bothered to clean. Once shinning monoliths of achievement, they had long since lost their luster and majesty, yet they still stood, providing some shelter to their inhabitant, who ran like rabbits into their holes at the first signs of danger. A thick smog covered the sky and wafted though the air, smelling pungently of sweat and rot, the very air had a pasty and slimy feel about it. The only light was gray and ghastly casting faded shadows that spoke of dark things, and only in the telltale whisper of silence. There was no sun.
No older than 21, with bright teaming blue eyes that shone with a living brilliance
